Ignore the Post made on the 08/11/11. I am going to be creating a Movie Reviews Website.
Mainly because I really began to consider what it is I want to do and after analysing my first 2 attempts the thing missing was consideration and explainations. “Why am I doing this?” “Why did I choose that?” If I do that in every step to designing my site I think I should be okay.
I began last night, by thinking about colours, font and pages (layout, content etc.)
BG Colour> Cinema Screens/Premiers @ Night > Black.
Font Colour> Red Carpet.
Title Font Style> a strong bold type face for the title, stand out and look differant (noticable in a good way)
Body Font Style> I know from previous research that serif fonts are somewhat harder to read and seem less direct. I want the user to feel relaxed and feel as if they are in control, a serif font reminds me of newspapers, school and generally not of anything fun. So, alas, I will use a San Serif for the bulked areas of reading (the reviews)
I then began to scribble down ideas for layouts.
I knew what I wanted: the bold title, quirky but obvious nav bar links, tidy looking reviews (with a good relationship with images), external links and a listed page for genres.
I really can’t believe how simple things got once I stopped worrying about the little things, like the subject, and began thinking logically about what is needed.
