Will did an edit with the suggested changes, there is still lighting and sounding issues to be sorted. Also there were literally a few tiny bits that need correcting (running down stairs 00:38 needs trimming back at the beginning- it shows me walking in and I was running in previous shot)
Other than that it was a good reference point for me to look for music that works and for Danny to see if her friend could compose an original piece for it.
I came across the following video and thought it could work. I got permission to use them from the creator…
… but when put into the film, Will said that it they didn’t work. While he had a play, I went looking for more music.
I realised that the best place to start would be looking at (the thing that unintentionally began to inspire this film) Mr. Bean. Looking at this clip, in which he too is in a rush, there is a constant beat drumming away in the background with occasional appearances from tambourines and other understated instruments. They all work together to form a track that doesn’t distract away from the visual yet you know it’s there and its presence adds tension and a sense of climb to the story.
Playing around with existing soundtracks for movies, I found this video (from Star Wars) and it has such an epic aura about it and weirdly enough it works. It has a constant sound to it that builds to a high point, and the speed really adds to the dynamics of the film, however it does steal the show and as an example, I can tell we need something a lot more subtle!
