These Following covers are directly linked to the ‘Driver’ games I looked at. It plays with the idea of anonymity but also carries a very heavy message of violence, I feel.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the first 3 as they are extremely basic and as there isn’t much going on you would expect to be able to identify the featured person and he is unclear.
So I progressed onto these 3:
What I like is how in the first, the empty space in his face is filled with the landscape. It represents how he is part of the city.
The second is harsh to look at and it suggests that he is separate from the city- all the white space where his body is not filled with anything and this implies to me that he is something different, not the same.
Finally I made this one, this is mostly like a Japanese monster, it feels like he is just watching over the city, almost like a guardian- not the message I was aiming for.
Turns out the first one was the best of the 3, but I’m still not sure I like them..
Visually I am certain I prefer this one. It is easier on the eyes.
The message behind it, a really strong sense of ‘who is he?’ and he is made of a map of L.A. Hitting my two key aims.
Only concern, it is massively simple compared to what I did before and it just seems like I’ve gotten lazy..
Next Step: SORT IT OUT!
